Trucker's Family Seeks Justice Over a Year After Fatal I-95 Crash
Over a year after a tragic crash claimed the life of 31-year-old truck driver Trenton Schnackenberg, his family is still seeking answers and justice. The accident occurred on November 19, 2023, on Interstate 95 in Essex County, Virginia, when an Infiniti struck Trenton’s tractor-trailer, forcing it into a bridge overpass support. The devastating collision ripped open the truck and its FedEx trailer, leaving Trenton fatally injured. Despite initial information provided by the Infiniti driver, including their name and address, the driver fled the scene and has yet to be apprehended.
Trenton’s family has expressed frustration and heartbreak over the lack of progress in the case. Rebecca Fisher, Trenton’s aunt, voiced disbelief at how a semi-truck in plain sight could go unnoticed and criticized social media narratives blaming the truck driver. Adding to their anguish, Virginia State Police have not released the suspect’s name or photo, citing an open and active investigation. The lack of public involvement in the search has left the family feeling disheartened and questioning the investigation's thoroughness.
While nothing can bring Trenton back, his loved ones are determined to seek justice for his untimely death. Trenton’s fiancé, Brandi Roland, shared her grief, emphasizing his love for his job and dedication as a truck driver. His grandfather, Dwayne, echoed the family’s desire for closure, insisting the suspect should not escape accountability. Despite the ongoing investigation, the family continues to push for answers, hoping to honor Trenton’s memory by ensuring justice is served.
