Trucker helps man up, fixes his wheelchair when no one else would
From CDL Life:
A truck driver went out of his way to help a man who fell out of his wheelchair in Kansas this week.
According to KSNT News, a man in a motorized wheelchair was heading for the gas station in downtown Topeka when he fell over. Luckily, a truck driver happened to be passing by and sprang into action. The truck driver helped the man up and even helped to make a minor repair on his wheelchair.
A witness to the situation says that she was amazed to see someone so genuinely kind to a stranger.
“A lot of people would have just walked away,” said witness Kelly Hogan. “‘Oh his wheelchairs got a problem? That’s his problem.’ That’s how a lot of people, you know, their attitudes, and I thought that helping him up off the ground was one thing, but going above and beyond and taking your own personal time to work on somebody’s stuff is a big deal in our day.”
The truck driver, Wayland B. says that he just wanted to make sure that the man was okay, not just physically but mentally as well. He also urged people to remember that good deeds bring good karma to those who perform them.
