Semi-truck crashes into home in Waterloo, man suffers minor injuries
From WPTA21.com:
A man has minor injuries after a semi-truck crashed into his home off U.S. 6 in Waterloo just after 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
The home is located at the corner of Union and Washington streets.
Home-owner Todd Higgins tells ABC21 he was treated at the hospital for a few broken bones and received stitches. He said he was thrown across the room from his bed when the semi crashed into his house.
"I think all the shock hasn't really set in yet, like my house is destroyed," said Higgins. "I was mad at first, but then I really thought about it. Like I just got hit by a truck and I'm walking. I'm just happy I'm alive."
Higgins tells us the driver of the semi was air lifted to the hospital. The drivers condition is unknown.
ABC21 reached out to the Waterloo Marshal's Office. We are waiting for information on the crash.
