The intermittent closures will begin on Thursday, June 3rd and will continue through June 11th along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Pennsylvania.

  • Sideling Hill Service Plaza (I-76 westbound and eastbound at milepost 172.3): Closed for a maximum of 60 minutes between From 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Friday, June 11.

During these hour-long closures, the PA turnpike service plaza entry ramps will be closed to all traffic, but the exit ramps will remain open. However, during the last half hour of closures, the exit ramps will also be shut down to allow workers to install traffic detection sensors, and no one that is still inside of the service plaza will be able to leave the area until the installations are complete.

These newly-installed sensors will be integral to the planned Truck Parking Management System, which will provide truckers with real-time truck parking data via digital signs along the freeways and third-party apps and trucking information systems.
